With a large and extensive program in surface, the first decisions are focused on eliminating uninteresting interior and accessory buildings, moving the new constructions to the perimeters to free up as much space as possible for the outdoor program. Consolidating the boundaries of the plot allows us to resolve the differences in levels, to create a visual barrier to protect against bathing, as well as to improve protection against external noise. These are presented as low and proportioned buildings towards the exterior street spaces, while towards the interior they serve as an expansion of the green areas.
The indoor bathing building will be located along Sandstraße and establishes its reference with the architecture of the city center. When facing a residential environment, the volume is presented as low as possible, fragmented and variable in section like a topography, allowing it to adapt to the space and lighting requirements needed in the sports pools. The outdoor bathing area within the spa program is built in continuity with the previous one, providing unity of access and facilities to the whole complex.
